Auction services do not make it possible for Snip to directly synchronize its clock with their server clocks. Snip uses NTP (Network Time Protocol) servers to set its time instead. We have it on good authority that auction services use these same servers.
The precision of Snip-and-auction-service synchronization mainly depends on how often clock auction server update their clocks. This explaines why a shot may be earlier or later than scheduled.
If your bid was placed day of few days befor auction ended it means seller has prolonged the listing. She/he is usually allowed to do so unless first bid is placed.
