What are Conditional Bids?

Conditional Bids let you assign any number of action to the scheduled shot that will be executed after this shot ends, depending on the shot's result. You can set action to be executed when:

  • a shot succeeds, i.e. the result is "Target Hit!"
  • or when a shot fails i.e. results in anything other than a hit.
You can set an action to:
  • cancel another scheduled shot
  • change the maximum bid of another scheduled shot

Example: You find in separate auctions spoon, knife and fork you would like to buy but only if you can get them all. Those auctions end in the following order: first, the spoon, then the knife and finally, the fork. If you fail to win the spoon, you are no longer interested in bidding on the other items. So, you set two actions on the spoon shot. If the spoon shot fails, Snip should remove the shots on the knife and fork. If you win the spoon and the knife, you are determined to win the fork too. So you sent another action, this one on the knife bid: if the shot at knife succeeds, change the maximum bid at the fork to ...(whatever your wallet / spouse / rationality allows). Of course, still you have to resolve the problem of what to do with the shot at fork if you win the spoon but loose the knife.

CAUTION! Conditional Bids, just like Shot Groups can be a powerful tool in an experienced and careful sniper's hands. They can also cost needless loss of money if used improperly. Please read following cautions and proceed carefully. Your money and your nerves are at risk. If you are not sure what you are doing, do not risk the bid, no matter how badly you want the item!

  • It should be obvious - actions can be performed only on shots with later shot dates than the base shot one. To execute an action, the result of the shot on which the action is based must be known.
  • You may assign multiple conditions to each shot, but one condition may be aimed at a particular shot only once. You cannot apply one condition to another auction in two different ways. For example, if A succeeds, change the maximum bid on B; and if A succeeds, remove the shot at B. It is permissible and often wise to set two different conditions regarding the same auction. For example, if A succeeds, change the maximum bid at B, but if A fails remove the shot at B.
  • There should be no less than two minutes in addition to the base shot buffer between the close of the base shot's item and the close of the auction which receives the action. A shot starts sixty (60) seconds plus the shot buffer before an auction's ends; from its start it cannot be modified or cancelled.
You may check the each shot's action list to see if there are time conflicts.
If this icon appears at the left side of the action, there is a risk that it may not be performed regardless of the shot's result (target shot starts in less than 2 minutes after base auction ends).
If this icon appears at the left side of the action, it for sure will not be performed regardless of the shot's result (target shot starts before base auction ends).
Please note: These icons appear at the shot's action list only. They don't appear at the regular shot list.
  • This same sixty (60) second window applies to actions as well. After a shot has started, no action can be added, removed, or modified from it. Please plan your actions early, so that you can avoid rushing.
